The Afterman: Ascension

So i received my copy of The Afterman: Ascension a day after release! Which was annoying. I have probably listened to the album over 40 times already. haha! In the bath, on the toilet, at work and in bed. I have totally nailed this album. This being Coheed’s sixth studio album i wanted to love it as much as some of the others. Also that Josh Eppard (Drummer) had made his return to the band i was really hoping for something spectacular.

The album only has 9 tracks on unless you buy the iTunes version (annoying hate itunes!)  TBF the iTunes version only has 1 extra song and the rest are all demos. I decided to get both versions so i can really get the full feel for the album.

Previous to receiving the album i had already listened to Domino the Destitute like 100 times and watch the video a couple of time also. So if you include the intro and this song i literally only had like 7 songs to play with. To be honest i didn’t think 7 new songs and an intro were going to cut it.

I was wrong! Some of the songs really have a Good Apollo feel to it. Feels more story driven, much better vocals and great music all mixed well together. My favorite track has to be Key Entity Extraction III: Vic the Butcher. Not really sure why? My ears just wanna make love to it great, great song! and overall great album. Only have to wait until Febuary for the next installment The Afterman: Descension. Cant wait!

Verdict go buy it 5 stars!

Dr Dre iBeats

I purchased a pair of these a while back. I wanted to wait for my review as i wanted to use them for a while before i posted. Im not great with headphones they never seem to last to long.

These babies however are the best headphones i have ever owned. Not only do they work with most iDevices they also work with my HTC. The sound is brilliant! The bass is something else, You really can’t go wrong with these amazing headphones.

The dre Beats have In-Ear Noise Isolation Small Size, Big Sound: High Performance In-Ear Headphones for iPad, iPhone, iPod. If replacing busted buds over and over again is getting old, when you step up to iBeats, you not only get stylish in-ear headphones built to last. You also hear what you’ve been missing. Engineered to deliver extraordinary HD audio from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod, it’s amazing how such a big sound comes out of so compact a package.

Lamb of God – Resolution

I was very impressed with “Resolution“, as I have enjoyed Lamb Of God‘s music throughout, Wrath especially grabbed me, but this album was different. My favorite songs from the album are “King Me“, and “Desolation“. I love Lamb Of God‘s music, especially on Resolution. This album feels both very aggressive and also cerebral (from a lyrical p.o.v). My least favorite track would have to be “Straight For The Sun“, which starts out very heavy but then doesn’t really feel like there is much movement in the song after that, to me just kinda fizzles out in to the same sh*t. I love the acoustic intros and the heavy riffs throughout. Overall a great album…So all in all 1 crap song the rest amazing!

Dave McPherson – The Hardship Diaries

Sooo this is gonna be hard trying to describe in words just how good this LP is. I’m a massive InMe fan and i saw Dave McPherson’s solo act in Nottingham at the maze. He totally blew me away with his amazing melodies and great guitar playing. I particularly like the fact he played turbulence as i love that track from InMe. Any back to this album! This is one of my favourite acoustic albums that I have ever heard, standout tracks from Hearts Need Blood right through to This Is No Fairytale and my personal favourite Listen To The Music. I love the sound on all of the guitar work, amazing vocals and harmonies make this an unstoppable album, and Dave’s voice makes it unique. It’s a must buy! Go Get it now

Me my friend Elliott and Dave at The Maze!
